9. Role/Circle Creation

Now that you have created a workspace and invited some users. Let's see how we can set up your team structure so that you can start achieving your purpose.

Role and Circle are essential concept for self-managed collaboration.

Instead of having a fixed job title and job description, an organization/team can be structured with roles and circles. Each role/circle can define a purpose that supports a higher purpose of parent circle. Within that role/circle, detailed accountabilities are clearly documented so that everyone knows what can be expected explicitly from that role/circle. This structure can be easily adapted to reflect actual working relationship.

A person can share his/her talents and knowledge by joining different circles and filling multiple roles, which boosts personal development and growth a lot.

Create a role/circle

On mobile, there are 3 ways to create a new role/circle.

Option 1: Click the Orange + button on the bottom to create a new role / circle.

The orange + button behaves differently depending on where you are. For instance, a todo will be the default creation when pressing this button on "My work". In this case, we can click on the triangle icon next to data type text to change to other data type.

Switch to another data type

Option 2: Within a workspace, click on blue + button on lower right corner to create a new role/circle.

Option 3: Under a circle, click "Add role" or "Add sub-circle" to launch the creation screen.

Once all roles and circles are created, you can have a good overview of your organization/team structure.
