Domain and policy is used to help identify which role has which authority to make what decisions.

  • A domain is like a property of a role, whoever else wants to make an impact on that domain, needs to get permission from relevant role. For instance, if a Marketing role has Wechat article publication as a domain, it means that everyone else needs to get Marketing role's permission to post a new Wechat article.

  • A policy can only be created with a granted domain. It is quite often used to provide more detailed guidelines on how to make use of a domain. For instance, a Marketing role can mention that Product tutorials role can post product tutorials on Wechat without asking for permission from Marketing role.
