4.1 My Tensions
Tension is an essential tool for supporting self-managed collaboration. In this article we covered the overall concept of a tension and typical user context.
Below we will dive into how to work with tensions.
Tension page overview
Below is an overview of the tension module.

Create a tension
Step 1: Click "+Tension" button from top navigation bar to create a new tension.

Step 2: Fill in tension detail on the Pop-up window.

Step 3: Click "Send" and the tension will appear under "Raised for others" -> "Raised" tab.

Accept a tension
As a tension receiver, click on a raised tension card under "Raised for me". Above the tension detail page, there is the "Accept" button.

Click "Accept" to create a todo or project to resolve this tension.

The status of this tension will become "Accepted" and can be found under "Raised for me" -> "Accepted".
Reject a tension
Sometimes, you will receive a tension that is outside of your role's accountabilities, for instance, it actually belongs to another role's accountability. In this case, you can reject a received tension.

You can provide more input regarding declining this tension so that tension raiser knows how to deal with the same situation next time.

Tension raiser will receive a notification and find this tension in "Raised for others" -> "Raised" list.
For a declined tension, Tension raiser can either delete it completely or edit it and send it again to the right role.
Resolve a tension
Once a todo/project associated with this tension is resolved, we can check off this todo/project and it will mark this tension as resolved. Another way to do this is click "Resolve" button above the tension detail page.

Close a tension
Once a tension is resolved, tension raiser can verify if it is actually resolved. If so, tension raiser can close it by clicking "Close" button. A closed tension can be found under "Raised for others" -> "Closed".

Now, we have gone through a tension's entire lifecycle from raised to closed.
